What Kind Of Church Should I Attend?
Many people choose a church for several different reasons.  Sometimes the church is close to their home, sometimes their family has been going to the church for generations, sometimes the kids pick the church based on the children's activities.  But how should you really look for a church?  If you are wondering what type of church you should be at and why should you even go to church- let's check out what the Bible has to say!

Why should I join a church?
1. This is what they did in the New Testament (Acts 2:41).  There are several churches listed in the New Testament: the church at Berea, Jerusalem, Philippi, Corinth, Thessalonica, Ephesus, and Colosse to name a few.
2. It is a command of God to be faithful to church (Hebrews 10:25).
3. What God is doing today He is doing through the church (I Timothy 3:15).
4. Baptism is a command and it is by baptism that a person becomes part of a church (Acts 2:41).
5. The Lord's Supper is a church ordinance (I Corinthians 11:23-26).  Therefore, you should not observe the Lord’s Supper without being part of a church.

What kind of church should I join?
1. A church that preaches and teaches the truth of the Word of God (Romans 16:17; II Thessalonians 3:6; II Timothy 4:2-4; Titus 1:9-16).
2. A church that preaches the whole counsel of God (Acts 20:27).
3. A church whose purpose is to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8).

What are the benefits of becoming a member of a church?
1. You will be taught the Word of God (Acts 2:42).
2. Church is a place to fellowship with other believers (Acts 2:42).
3. Church is a place for corporate prayer (Acts 2:42).
4. It is a place to find help when you are in need (Acts 2:45).
5. It is a place to be refreshed, strengthened, and encouraged. (Acts 2:46-47).

What are the goals of a church?
1. Evangelize the Sinner (Matt. 28:18-19, Acts 2:41).
2. Edify the Saint (Matt. 28:20; Acts 2:42-46).
3. Exalt the Savour (Eph. 3:21; Acts 2:47).
